Royal Mail strike and NHSRxS

NHS Prescription Services (NHSRxS) is advising on its website that customers who send in their monthly prescription submissions by Royal Mail may want to consider using alternative delivery methods during the postal strike.

NHSRxS is processing submissions they receive as normal. 

 

MP asks about shortages and parallel exports

Mr. Sanders (Torbay Liberal Democrats) sandersa@parliament.uk : To ask the Secretary of State for Health how much was spent on reimbursements of No Cheaper Stock Obtainable concessions in each month between June 2008 and September 2009.

 

Mr. Mike O'Brien: This information can be provided only at disproportionate cost.

 

Mr Sanders went onto ask the Secretary of State for Health if he will commission a study into the impact of the parallel trade of medicines within the European Union on the supply of medicines in England.

 

Mr. Mike O'Brien: We have no plans to commission such a study. We are monitoring the situation closely and are in regular contact with pharmaceutical companies, wholesalers and pharmacy bodies.
