Dr Allan Tennant reports

21st of June 2010

There are now 443 products in Category M with 11 products being added and two being removed.

There is a high volume drug- Losartan which has fallen in price by 70% as it enters Category M and a low volume high cost drug- Ropinirole.

Gabapentin 300mg is reimbursed from 1st of July at £4.99, but my practice was charged £19.10 this week. You can mark the prescription NCSO as you can for Nizatidine 300mg capsules, see NCSO endorsements

The high volume high cost Clopidogrel fell in price by £5.77 or 53% to £5.13.

308 products rose in price.

7 products saw no price change.

128 products fell in price.

In general it was the more expensive products costing more than £4 that saw prices fall whilst cheaper products saw prices rise.
