The Dundee Courier has published a story on the 7th of July 2010 reporting accusations of "unprofessional behaviour" by Mr Semple of TLC Pharmacy, by Leuchars community council regarding an email sent to Mr Alan Kennedy.
DDA Online reported on this email earlier in the week and received a surprisingly high level of viewing being our second highest viewed story in the last month after the latest Category M prices.
In the Courier article Carol Finnie, Chair of Leuchars community council, says "For someone who is Vice Chair of Community Pharmacy Scotland and a member of the recently formed ‘Professional Regulation and Leadership Oversight Group' (PRLOG) to behave in this childish and despicable manner makes a mockery of his position in this new group and is his peers should take a hard look to see if he is the type of person they wish to have as an associate on one of their professional bodies."
In the article Mr Semple regrets that a private email was published, but not its content. He accuses Mr Kennedy of "an ongoing campaign to destroy my small business" and accuses him of trying to "destroy my livelihood" He also reiterates that some people (fighting his pharmacy) do not understand the regulations. He declares that he wants to build bridges with local GP practices.
DDA Online has spoken to people in Leuchars and they do understand the regulations. Their concerns are that the regulations regarding pharmacy applications do not take into account patient views or the effect of the application on local medical services.
Following DDA Online's article we received three emails from Mr Semple during the wee small hours. He asked us to take his email address out of the article, which we did, although he did say "I'm not bothered about irate Dispensing Doctors or the various campaigners against me getting in touch."
In another email he wrote,
"Pathetic Allan - I'd expect better from a fellow professional.
Fortunately I never send emails I'm not happy to be made public, even when not intended as such.
Do you honestly think I wouldn't expect the likes of Mr Kennedy to go bleating to his chums?"
