Pfizer announces new Dispensing Rebate Scheme

Pfizer to operate a separate discount scheme for dispensing practices

Pfizer announces a separate discount scheme for dispensing practices after discussions with The DDA.

The DDA reports

5th December 2006

The DDA has been in discussion with Pfizer over the level of discount that Pfizer are to give under their new scheme. Following these discussions the DDA have convinced Pfizer to offer a scheme specific to dispensing practices.

The planned Pfizer ‘pharmacy’ scheme would have covered pharmacy and dispensing doctors, with dispensing doctors likely to receive 8.5%.

Following DDA input Pfizer have agreed to operate a separate discount scheme for dispensing practices of 10.5% on all Pfizer purchases. In addition to this Pfizer will maintain its dispensing doctor rebates scheme.

The DDA is very pleased that Pfizer have listened to our concerns and altered their plans in light of them. We recognise that some practices will currently get more than 10.5% and some less, the DDA hopes that Pfizer will continue to review its discount plans in future.
