The DDA has secured a pledge of a refund of eligible bank charges for dispensing GPs in Wales affected by an AAH direct debit collection error.

Some 218 customer accounts in Wales failed to update correctly following a change of the direct debit date from 2nd of month to 1st day of month,
commencing in September 2022. This was communicated to practices by letter in June, effective from 1 July.

The administration error resulted inĀ  payments being collected one day earlier than advised, on August 31.

Following a DDA Board member enquiry, the DDA has received a letter stating that the error has been corrected, and that the next collection will take place on October 1. It has also offered to reimburse any related bank charges on production of the following evidence:

Bank statement showing the charge to the customer from their bank and specific charge value being applied on or closely after today date

Bank statement showing:

  • balance as at close of 30/08/22
  • listed transactions for 31/08/22 (anonymised for payees except AAH)
  • balance as at close of 31/08/22
