A Tier 2 medicine supply notification has been issued for Quinapril (Accupro) 5mg, 10mg, 20mg and 40mg tablets, following  a  recall notification.

This is a precautionary recall of all batches of Accupro 5mg, 10mg, 20mg and 40mg film-coated tablets (quinapril) due to the identification of a nitrosamine above the acceptable limit.  Nitrosamines may increase the risk of cancer if people are exposed to them above acceptable levels and over long periods of time.

Healthcare teams are asked to quarantine all remaining stock of the specified batches and return them to your supplier using your supplier’s approved process. Patients should be asked to make a routine appointment with their GP to discuss other treatment options and that meanwhile it is important that they continue to take their Accupro tablets.
