A man comes in with a prescription for valsartan. He comments that his blood pressure has come down quite significantly on this medication, which he started a few months ago. However, the doctor has suggested he look at his diet in order to try and reduce it further. Salt intake has been mentioned as a good starting point, but the patient says he finds foods low in salt rather bland and would prefer to use a salt substitute.
