DDA board member and senior partner dispensing GP Dr Philip Koopowitz will be presenting on dispensary profitability in five locations between September and November.
His presentation, Optimising the management of the dispensary in a cost-constrained NHS, will take in topics such as the Falsified Medicines Directive, due for implementation in the UK by February 2019, improving dispensing profitability, personally administered items and VAT, maximising discounts and understanding brand vs generic dispensing.
There will also be worked examples to check the profitability of dispensing classes of prescription items such as macrogols, gliflozins, gliptins and NOACs.
The presentation runs between 6.30-9pm and includes a hot buffet supper.

The meetings are free to attend, courtesy of organisation and funding by Takeda.
