The DDA is inviting practices in England to lobby MPs about the unforeseen effects of well-intentioned health policy in rural areas.

The letter highlights the consequences of the following proposals:

• Suggested changes to the GP partnership model
• Primary Care Networks
• Medicine reclassifications
• Emergency access to medicines
• Mass vaccination centres
• GP+
• Static NHS funding

The letter explains that NHS England is being permitted to discriminate against the nine million patients – a population which is larger than that of Greater London – who live in remote, rural, coastal and island communities.

It invites MPs to take the ‘rural challenge.’
