Dispensing fees to rise from April 2018

Dispensing GPs in Wales are advised that the dispensing fee will rise by an average of 8.2p (4.15 per cent) per item from April 2018. It is expected that this rise will also apply in England.

This follows the average 9.4p (4.5 per cent) reduction in the dispensing fee for England and Wales effective from October 1.

The new fee scale, effective from April 1, 2018 is published below, with comparative information for October, 2017.

The fee rise is detailed in the consolidated SFE October 2017 for Wales, posted in the regulations section of the Dispensary Management Zone for members’ convenience.
