Dr Reddy’s Laboratories (UK) Ltd is recalling two batches of lacidipine 4mg film-coated tablets due to odour concerns.

These tablets are normally odourless. However, in the affected batches, a solvent-like odour is present when the individual blisters are opened. Additionally, some patients have noted that the tablets have an unusual taste.
Healthcare professionals are asked to quarantine all remaining stock and return it to your supplier using your supplier’s approved process.
The recall is a precautionary measure whilst the company completes the investigation. There are no concerns with the medicine and its ability to control blood pressure and patients should be advised to continue their prescription.

Dioctyl 100mg capsules
UCB Pharma Ltd is also recalling one batch of Dioctyl 100 mg capsules (docusate sodium).

The recall is a precautionary measure due to the presence of a foreign capsule being found in a sealed pack. The foreign capsule detected was a blue/green capsule marked with the text ‘IM02’ containing loperamide 2mg capsules. Dioctyl 100mg capsules are opaque yellow and white soft gelatin capsules containing a clear, colourless liquid.
Healthcare professionals are asked to quarantine all remaining stock and return it to your supplier using your supplier’s approved process.
Patients who have received this batch and who discover the foreign capsule(s) are asked to return the pack to the dispensary for replacement. They should be advised to not consume the foreign capsule.
