EMIS Patient Access problems continue

Following representations from the DDA, EMIS Health has today issued a statement regarding problems for dispensing patients using the online repeat prescription service Patient Access.
EMIS states that it is aware of an issue with Patient Access whereby patients who receive their medications dispensed by their practice can set their EPSr2 to another pharmacy, without fully understanding the consequences to their status as dispensing patients of their practice.
EMIS Health and Patient Access have pledged to work collaboratively with the Dispensing Doctors’ Association to identify how Patient Access can be modified to ensure dispensing patients are able to continue to exercise their right to use the GP dispensing service.
While changes are being made, DDA advice to members remains to disable the app until it is working correctly for dispensing patients. A template letter for patients has been placed in the DDA member resources area.
