Peer reviewers will be added to Welsh GP inspections, Healthcare Inspectorate Wales has said in its annual report of 2021-22

The report notes good evidence of GP practices using peer support (clusters) to improve patient care.

However, there were some gaps in cleaning policies and schedules, and a lack of completed risk assessments for home visits, practice staff and the environment.

In some areas, face to face access to the practice team is limited and, while some areas have innovated patient access, in others there is digital exclusion.

HIW did not highlight any medicines management concerns in GP practices.
