Wales issues guidance over extending prescribing intervals
DDA and GPC Wales advice is to holistically consider making changes

The All Wales Therapeutics and Toxicology Centre (AWTTC) has published guidance for prescribing intervals following a review.
The document presents an overview of the current situation regarding prescribing intervals, and sets out a series of recommendations on increasing prescribing intervals where appropriate.
The DDA and GPC Wales remind dispensing practices in Wales that it is not obligatory to extend prescribing intervals in line with the guidance. Dispensing practices are also reminded to consider the potential financial losses.
