Welsh GP regulator Healthcare Inspectorate Wales has published its strategic plan for 2022-25.   This sets out a number of new priorities including:

• Focus on the quality of healthcare provided to people and communities as they access, use and move between services
• Respond to emerging risks to patient safety
• Collaborative working to drive system and service improvement within healthcare
• Develop HIW workforce

The methodology outlined in the plan includes new methodologies for seeking assurance including use of HIW’s new data management system and collaboration with Wales’ new Citizens Voice Body (CVB), which replaces Wales’ Community Health Councils from April 2023.
