12 rural areas to benefit from full fibre broadband

Six new contracts worth more than £450 million aim to bring full fibre broadband to businesses in 12 rural areas from early 2025.

The beneficiaries are: Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire, Berkshire, Leicestershire, Warwickshire, Sussex, Kent, Bedfordshire, Northamptonshire and Milton Keynes, Nottinghamshire and West Lincolnshire.

Full fibre can deliver speeds of up to 1,000 megabits (or one gigabit) per second - up to 30 times faster than superfast connections based on copper cables.
