Alert: paracetamol and co-codamol soluble or effervescent tablets

Zentiva Pharma UK Limited has advised that specified batches of paracetamol and co-codamol soluble or effervescent tablets are taking longer than expected to fully dissolve, resulting in an increase in residual material.

Additionally, some tablets may appear as having a rough surface on one side.

There is no risk to patient safety, quality or efficacy due to this issue and healthcare professionals are asked to alert patients to the extended dissolution and change in appearance. Patients should continue to take tablets from these batches as prescribed.
