Dapagliflozin reimbursement slashed by up to 29% from September

Dapagliflozin 5mg and 10mg tablets reimbursement prices have decreased by between 17.6 and 29 per cent following a move from Category C to Category M in the September 2025 Drug Tariff. 

The extraordinary Category M adjustment follows a legal battle over the patented verson (Forxiga) and the launch of generic versions of dapagliflozin tablets.

The September 2025 Drug Tariff reimbursement prices for Dapagliflozin are:

• Dapagliflozin 5mg tablets: price decrease from £36.59 to £25.89 (29%)
• Dapagliflozin 10mg tablets: price decrease from £36.59 to £30.15 (17.6%)
