DDA informs NHS Highland dispensing guidance

NHS Highland has developed dispensing practice guidance, with the support of the DDA.

The guidance reflects the advice given by the DDA during the development of the guidance, and in the DDA's Quality in Practice dispensing guidance.

Topics  covered in the NHS Highland guidance are:

• Checking Dispensed Medicines
• Controlled Drugs
• Supplying medicines to patients
• Processing prescriptions
• Data protection and confidentiality
• Stock control and equipment
• Errors and near misses

Printed copies of the revised 2025-28 DDA Quality in Practice guidance will be available to delegates attending the 2024 DDA conference.
