October 16th 2025
A Henley-on-Thames DDA member has started a petition calling for a pause in the rollout of Neighbourhood Health reforms.
The petition, started by Dr Harmandeep Singh, business administrator and strategic lead at Nettlebed Surgery, calls for a full public consultation, the publication of detailed implementation plans, and a commitment to protect GP surgeries.
The petition also calls for a formal guarantee that no contracts will be handed to private companies or overstretched hospital trusts.
Dr Singh warns that Neighbourhood Health reforms could lead to closing or merging local GP surgeries, ending continuity of care with family doctors and forcing patients to travel further for appointments.
At 10,000 signatures, government will respond to this petition.
At the time of writing, the petition had 322 signatures.
