DDA raises rural GP issues in Westminster event

DDA Board Member Dr Ian Hume raised the rural challenges facing dispensing GPs in a Rebuild General Practice campaign roundtable with Liberal Democrat MPs.

The discussion focused on the challenges facing GP practices across the country, from rising demand and workforce pressures to the need for a more sustainable model of primary care. 

The Rebuild General Practice campaign represents GPs across Great Britain and champions the role of general practice in the NHS. Specific aims cover

• A plan to retain the GP workforce
• Fair funding as part of the wider NHS
• Greater freedom and autonomy to do our jobs.

The campaign funded by the General Practitioners' Defence Fund.
