Better recognition and diagnosis has led to a 50 per cent rise in diagnoses of Atrial Fibrillation (AF) in a decade, according to the British Heart Foundation, taking the total number of diagnoses in 2023 to over 1.5 million people.
In common with several other cardiovascular diseases, AF may have no symptoms at all – especially in older people – yet active management of the condition is important as the condition significantly increases the risk of a blood clot and subsequently, stroke.
This training, available free and exclusively to DDA members, is designed to provide practice dispensary staff with background information on atrial fibrillation. Throughout this training, you will find various activities to help reinforce your learning. Ten, multiple choice questions at the end will help you identify any areas needing a quick recap.
DDA members can visit the library of Dispenser Education Modules to view the training.
