DDA updates dispenser training on MS management

The chronic central nervous system (CNS) condition multiple sclerosis affects more than 150,000 people in the UK.

However, the wide range of MS symptoms and the unpredictable nature of the disease’s progression mean there is no one-size-fits all treatment approach and management can differ hugely between patients.

This training, available free and exclusively to DDA members, is designed to provide practice dispensary staff with background information on the management of MS.

By the end of the article, dispensers will know:

• Advise on some of the measures people with MS can take to try and stay well
• Be aware of the role and limitations of disease-modifying medication
• Understand the management of relapse
• Be aware of self-care and medication options for major MS symptoms.
