DDA25: Smarter bloods management

How much money could be saved with switching who does the work? How many of the calls to reception can be reduced? What is the value of a better patient experience?

In a presentation to the DDA 2025 conference on smarter bloods management Dr Valeed Ghafoor, founder and CEO, outlined the benefits of outsourcing services to his company Vallour. This offers support in clinical administration, pharmacy services, software and bespoke solutions.

Giving one example, he said this service had saved 60 hours of practice time (equivalent to £2,200) by outsourcing 670 medication reviews.

He said: “Business managers may be keen to hear how much money could be saved, and how many more QOF points will be achieved. There can also be fewer patients calling reception, and less frustration as there will be shorter queue times.
