Dispensing reform will start this financial year, health minister pledges

Dispensing funding reform will begin this financial year, health minister Steven Kinnock has confirmed.

Replying to a question about funding for the EMIS Web dispensing module, the health minister stated that consultation to help inform the long-term approach to dispensing funded would take place in advance of determining the EMIS module funding arrangements.

He added that central funding for the EMIS Web dispensing module will remain in place until 31 March 2027. 

Confirming dispensing funding reform he told Dr Luke Evans MP (Con, Hinckley and Bosworth), Kinnock added: “Consultation with … the Dispensing Doctors’ Association and the British Medical Association will take place to help inform the long-term approach regarding the way dispensing is funded, in advance of the expiry of the 12-month extension [to EMIS Web funding]. “
