Junior ministers appointed at DHSC

Andrew Gwynne and Baroness Merron have been appointed as the new Parliamentary Under Secretaries of State at the Department of Health and Social Care.

Mr Gwynne is MP for Gorton and Denton, southeast of Manchester, and was a shadow minister for social care prior to the election.

Baroness Merron was previously a health minister between 2009-2010 when she was MP for Lincoln and was a shadow spokesperson for health and social care from 2021.

They join the ministerial team of Wes Streeting (pictured), Stephen Kinnock and Karin Smyth.
