New CD guidance for limited companies

The DDA and the Healthcare Distribution Association (HDA) has published joint guidance on the supply of Controlled Drugs to GP practices constituted as a limited company.

In summary, two core regulatory requirements apply:

Care regulator registration
Home Office Controlled Drugs licensing

Dispensing practices considering or operating via a limited company should ensure that regulatory registrations and licences are in place before Controlled Drugs or other medicines are procured by the company.
