NHSBSA publishes July Hints & Tips newsletter

Medical exemption certificates will now be valid for 10 years instead of five for most eligible long-term medical conditions, NHS BSA states in its latest (July) Hints & Tips newsletter.

This explains that cancer-related medical exemption certificates will remain valid for five years.

Dispensers are reminded that eligible people need a medical exemption certificate in place before claiming free NHS prescriptions - it is their certificate, not their medical condition, that entitles them to this support.

Please continue to support eligible patients to apply for a medical exemption certificate.
