Category M of the Drug Tariff for England and Wales (Part 7 in Scotland) provides important information on the reimbursement prices of generics. Adjustments to reimbursement prices are made quarterly – with significant adjustments usually made in April and October. The DDA analyses the quarterly adjustments for the benefit of dispensing practices in England and Scotland, as the adjustments for England are usually also reflected in the prices paid by the NHS in Scotland via Part 7.

More information on Category M and its implications for dispensing doctors can be found in ‘Current Challenges in Dispensing Practice’ .
