Eight more products will move from Category C to Category H, effective from September 2026, the Department of Health has announced.
Pack sizes and prices will be announced in the September Drug Tariff for England and Wales three working days before the end of August. The items moving to Category H are:
This is the second set of products to move from Category C to Category H, bringing the total number of items in Category H to 19.
Category H includes a subset of Category C drugs with multiple suppliers/competitors. Community Pharmacy England's view is that DHSC intends to move all eligible multi-source Category C products to Category H, in a phased approach. The negotiator for community pharmacy in England believes that currently over 100 products in Category C appear to meet DHSC’s entry criteria for Category H.
Category H prices will be published for members in the DDA's member only library of Category H prices, with prices sorted by price order, price increase, price percentage increase and history.
