DDA contacts MPs and MSPs over dispensing GPs' financial crisis

The DDA has contacted MPs and MSPs to send them a Whistlestop guide to the financial crisis affecting dispensing GPs.

This explains how complex regulations are forcing pharmacies and dispensing GPs to dispense medications to patients at a financial loss to their businesses. 

It also points out the consequences for patients when pharmacies and GP dispensaries close. 

The DDA asks Government to ensure that no dispensing GP or pharmacy is expected to dispense medications at a loss. 

Dispensing GPs can support this work by contacting local politicians.

The Whistlestop guide has been added to the library of RAMP UP (Rural Access to Medicines and Pharmacy services Under Pressure) resources.
