DDA updates MS training module

Multiple sclerosis (MS) is an acquired, chronic inflammatory condition of the central nervous system (CNS) that can affect the brain, brainstem and spinal cord. As a result, patients can experience a wide range of symptoms in different parts of the body.

More than 150,000 people in the UK live with MS and the number of people affected is growing by around 2.4 per year, usually due to better diagnosis and living longer.

In this dispenser education module on MS - the first of two on this condition - dispensary staff can find out the following:

  • Know the three main forms of MS
  • Understand what happens in the body to cause MS symptoms
  • Appreciate the wide range of symptoms and the impact these have on patients
  • Be aware of the tests that may be conducted to help diagnose MS

DDA members can also take a self-assessment and download a certificate of completion.
