October 25th 2023
The DDA has joined forces with other stakeholders in the NHS flu vaccination programme to seek more timely planning for the 2024/25 season.
Signed by DDA chairman Dr Richard West, as well as pharmacists, wholesalers, vaccine manufacturers and healthcare system representatives, the letter urges DHSC, UKHSA and NHS England to discuss improvements to the 2024/25 winter vaccination programme. This year's campaign was characterised by disruption and last minute changes.
The letter states that signatories are ready to start discussions around next winter's flu vaccination campaign in the coming weeks, to avoid confusion that disrupts deployment and potentially impacts vaccine uptake rates.
