New duty of quality for Welsh GPs

Six standards will become part of inspections

The Welsh Government has published a revised duty of quality in healthcare.

The new standards comprise six domains of quality: safe, timely, effective, efficient, equitable and person centred.

These are supported by six quality enablers: leadership, workforce, culture, information, learning, improvement & research and whole systems approach.

The new duty replaces the 2015 health and care standards issued under WHC (2015) 015.
