NHS BSA has published the July edition of Hints and Tips for dispensing contractors.
Issue 52 includes new HRT resources, information on the new FP57, endorsing advice and a reminder about hypromellose 0.3% eye drops.
FP57 receipt and refund claim form: This has been updated to reflect the introduction of the Hormone Replacement Therapy Prescription Prepayment Certificate (HRT PPC)
The new FP57 enables dispensers to record any charges paid for items on the HRT medicines list separately from other NHS prescription items.
The exemption category section also includes a new exemption box ‘U’ for Universal Credit and box ‘W’ for HRT PPC.
The new FP57 is now available. Dispensers are encouraged to continue to use the old FP57s until stocks run out.
HRT digital and printable resources: View the posters and leaflets to communicate the HRT PPC in dispensing practice.
There is also a new video on endorsing to reduce refer backs.
Hypromellose 0.3% eye drops: Prescribe by brand for reimbursement. The product was removed from Part VIIIA of the Drug Tariff in June 2022 but is still listed in Part IXA – Appliances.
