August 24th 2026
The Department of Health and Social Care has confirmed that the reimbursement price for the following products in the Drug Tariff Part VIIIA Category C has been redetermined for the month of August.
This is to reflect an increase in the NHS list price.
| Generic name | Brand name | Pack size | New NHS list price |
|---|---|---|---|
| Semaglutide 1.5mg tablets | Rybelsus 1.5mg tablets | 30 | £120 |
| Semaglutide 4mg tablets | Rybelsus 4mg tablets | 30 | £120 |
| Semaglutide 9mg tablets | Rybelsus 9mg tablets | 30 | £120 |
The change to the reimbursement price will also be applied to the branded prescriptions dispensed for the month of August as in the table.
Community Pharmacy England, which negotiates reimbursement prices on behalf of community pharmacies in England, continues to seek a review of the current price change timetable for branded products so that there is no extra months’ delay in applying any new list prices changes to reimbursement.
It estimates that based on community pharmacy dispensing volumes, this repricing will prevent losses estimated at £2.6 million following the Rybelsus® list price increase.
