Wales pledges to look at GP NIC support package

The Welsh Assembly has pledged to discuss support for GPs affected by tax rises introduced in the Autumn budget.

 Cabinet Secretary for Finance and Welsh Language Mark Drakeford said he had   “heard very clearly the points made” by Brecon and Radnorshire MS James Evans (Welsh Con).

Evans said: “What we're told is the NHS is exempt from tax rises. However, social care and GP surgeries are not, and they have raised serious concerns that tax rises could really impact the delivery of [their] services.”

The DDA has urged all GP practices to write to local politicians about the forthcoming increases to employer NI contributions.
